I started Future Days in 1999. I first saw clients for CRUSE, offering bereavement counselling and shortly after I started to work with private clients. I was completing my 4 years post graduate training in Transactional Analysis (TA), Psychotherapy, which led to my Advanced Diploma and Accreditation with the ITA (now UKATA) as a TA Practitioner.
I have a passion for health, nature and communication.
I am a keen snowboarder!
I treat everyone with respect.
In 2004 I reached 450 client hours and shortly after gained accreditation with BACP as a Psychotherapist. I have now accrued several thousand client contact hours, as a therapist and supervisor. Since then I have trained, studied and read extensively many different therapeutic approaches. I continue to study and expand my knowledge and utilise regular supervision, above and beyond the BACP guidelines. In 2009 I trained as an EMDR Psychotherapist and have successfully integrated this into my therapy practice. Please see my EMDR page.
I am a qualified Supervisor (BACP Senior Accredited) and have over 30 years supervision and coaching experience. Please see my Supervision page.
I am also committed to the wider field of mental health. I am a former founding director and trustee of the national charity, MHHP (Mental Health Helplines Partnership – now Helpline Partnership), where I worked to improve access, quality and governance of mental health helplines across the country.
Also I am a director of Re-Gain (Cornwall) C.I.C. – Cornwall’s first mental health specific social enterprise – see links.
In 2008 I co-wrote and edited “The Little Book of the Mind” see – Amazon – The Little Book of the Mind
In 2018 I qualified as a Professional Mediator, having mediated for couples for 20 years. In 2019 I further qualified as a Family Mediator and passed my Certificate in Gestalt Therapy with Distinction.
I am a relaxed and friendly character, although I can be enthusiastic and assertive when circumstance requires. I live a healthy and active life and try to model what I encourage in others.
